Welcome to the World of Success! YOUR Success!

Welcome to the World of SUCCESS!

Yes, it IS uncomfortable.

Yes, it IS scary.

Yes, it IS different.

And…

YES, IT’S TIME YOU ENTER IT!

These are the words I read in Dr. Mani’s email this morning.

While he was talking about including guarantees when you sell infoproducts, which by the way, he doesn’t recommend, I immediately found myself thinking about people who suffer from Marketing Resistance Syndrome.

That’s right! If you aren’t promoting yourself because you’re uncomfortable, scared, overwhelmed, feeling incompetent and other feelings that steal your personal power, then you’re letting Marketing Resistance steal your dreams.

That’s right. If you don’t let people you want to serve know you’re here for them and how you can help them get what they want and need, they can’t choose to do business with you. And your success depends on keeping a pipeline full of new prospects who are interest in how you might help them, and then consistently turn them into new clients and customers.

What is Marketing Resistance Syndrome?

MRS is a state of mind. It’s based on your unconscious blueprint ~ what you’ve come to believe about self-promotion. Many of us were taught, “Don’t blow your own horn.” “People will think you conceited, and you’ll get a swelled head.”

We don’t want to make our parents and teachers wrong. And we sure don’t want to experience those feelings in the pit of our stomach, so, guess what… we don’t promote ourselves or our products and services… even when we are confident in our ability to help those who somehow do find us.

So we avoid going out into the world telling our story to anyone and everyone who will listen, because you never know when that person, or someone they care about, needs exactly what you have to offer.

Here’s the good news. You can change your mind! You’ve done it thousands of times before about many beliefs you discovered no longer serve you. Now it’s time to tackle those unconscious beliefs that keep you from taking your message to YOUR world.

I know, I know… if you’re unconscious of these beliefs, how can you change them?

While you may not be totally aware of what those beliefs are at the moment, you can observe their impact on your life.

Self-limiting thoughts and beliefs produce negative feelings and negative feelings produce self-limiting behaviors. So all you have to do is look at the results of your behaviors.

If you aren’t as successful as you’d like, chances are you’re suffering from MRS.

Most of us were taught we need to change our thoughts in order to change our behavior. Did you know if you change your behavior your thoughts and feelings will change!

That’s right! If you behave the way you want, if you take the actions you know you need to take, your thoughts and feelings will change, and eventually so will your beliefs!

Remember the song from the musical The King and I… “Whenever I feel afraid, I hold my head erect and whistle a happy tune, and no one will suspect I’m afraid.”

Sure, you may feel uncomfortable and awkward at first.

Here’s the magic of the way we’re hard wired.

“The results of this deception is very strange to tell… for when I fool the people I fear, I fool myself as well!”

Really!

So now when it’s time to go out in the world, especially to attend a networking event or other business function, change the results you’ll get before you even leave your house! Stand erect, whistle a happy tune, and by the time you greet the first stranger you’ll be ready!

Try this technique and let me know how it works for you, okay!

Jim, I sure wish there were a pill. Just think of how many more professionals, network marketers, small business owners, and entrepreneurs would be more successful, which is ultimately the results I want from what I do.

The good news is there are many things you can do to quickly and easily overcome Marketing Resistance Syndrome. Here are a few:
    * Put on a happy face! That’s right. You can smile. You’ll get a smile back and that will help you relax.
    * So will breathing! I’ll bet you’re holding your breath, or barely breathing, when you find yourself in an uncomfortable situation.
    * Stand or sit tall! Changing your physiology changes your energy, which changes what you’re thinking and feeling, which changes how you behave. And isn’t that the ultimate goal ~ to become more comfortable interacting with people you don’t know or don’t know well.

I hope those tips help you enjoy being out in the world promoting yourself and what you’re offering your marketplace.

And keep in mind, promoting yourself is only one aspect of marketing. In fact, there are 7 different areas of business that make up marketing. And if you really want your promotions to be most effective, you’ll want to build a strong foundation in the other 6 so you create the right message for the right people delivered through the right channels at the right time.

Knowing this is a great place to start. If you want support, encouragement and assistance to overcome marketing resistance, register for my free teleclass, Overcome Marketing Resistance Syndrome. Looking forward to meeting you on the call!
